Hi everyone- help with unchecking 500 boxes in a column. All at once.

Hi, I just joined this forum because I inherited a neighborhood database that I will be maintaining. I use Access 2003. On my main table I have a column called "verified" that I checked off last year as I verified information (over 450 boxes). Now I need to un-check all 450 boxes but I seriously don't want to do each one at a time. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to un-check all at once?

Run an UPDATE query. Use the Query Designer to build. Basic Access functionality. Access Help has guidelines on using the designer.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Huh? I do not know how to do that. I'm just going to un-check one at a time I don't want to mess anything up. Thanks tho!

Thanks, Alan. Although it cuts off right before it explains how to do an update query.

I didn't realize that there was an issue with the link. Look at what June has provided and post back if there are further issues. It is not difficult and will save you lots of time and energy. If you are unsure about your skills, back up your table before you start and if you mess up, you still have the original to fall back on to try again.
