Dragging and dropping attachments from Outlook e-mail into an Access Database

Put basically, can it be done?

Our database records often start off as e-mail enquiries, with customer information on them, and attachments (usually JPG's or PDF's) We manually type in the data off the e-mail into an input form in Access2000. What would be really cool is if the e-mail attachments could be dragged out of Outlook (2010) and dropped onto the Access input form, and then the attachment gets itself filed to a specific location, and a link to that location stored in the data table.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks

    Martin

Can't 'drag' from Outlook to Access.

Need code to save attachment from Outlook to file location then to set Image or OLE control to display.

It might also be possible to extract info from email as opposed to manual input, if the emails have a standardized structure.

Thanks for the reply. I've seen e-mail to DB software but as most of our e-mails are written freehand they don't conform to any rules, so make them unsuitable for an automated process.

Shame that drag'n'drop won't work. Still, at least I now know.

    Thanks again

    Martin
