how to set a unique ID

    good day again sir's.

if possible how would i set a unique ID in my primary key? for example: i have a student id which is "1a123" and it consist of characters and numbers. if in case that i mistakenly type that same ID again, how it can warn me that i already have used that ID? or what sort of technique to do that?

Any help would be much appreciated.

By defining the field as being a primary key automatically makes the contents unique. Indexed No duplicates.
