Grouping Records

Access is suppossed to be a relational database.

Has anyone got an idea for a family tree type of database that works?

Is this something that does not work with Access?

I posted a little bit about this earlier, but still can't get it to work.

In the following example you can see the first rule of a relational database is broken. I have repeating data.

Is there any way to group these records in a single table by family?:

1st family:

FirstName	LastName	DOB	Father	MothersMaidenName
John	Watkins	9/12/75	Bob Watkins	Julie Stevens
Jennifer	Watkins	10/12/76	Robert Oliver	Wendy Stiener

Family tree database is probably one of the hardest to design and smarter people than me have already done this. I would buy off-the-shelf app.
