How to show data in Access Form

Any idea how to show backend data in frontend application.

I have two databases FE and BE. And BE database is password protected. I need to extract data from BE database and need to show in FE in read only format and need to provide one button to change the data.

Any idea how to achieve that. Please let me know if someone has sample code for the same.

    Highly appreciate your help.

Have you set FE links to BE tables? Have you created forms bound to tables? Review: http://www.datawright.com.au/access_...ed_backend.htm

Hi June Thanks for the reply

Actually I'm New to access world and never created any form with data I have created form with Buttons only

Regarding the link between FE and BE it'll be created on the fly whenever its required and once job is completed then link will be removed. Need your suggestions on this as well, is this approach ok or I should have all tables link already created in FE?

    Appreciate your help

What is the BE - SQL, Oracle, Access?

I mostly work with linked tables, seldom set connections 'on-the-fly'.

    Here is another reference http://forums.aspfree.com/microsoft-...ue-323364.html

Those references should give you enough guidance to set up split db. When you encounter specific issue, post question and we will try to help. Good luck.
