    Can someone explain querydef?

Kind of new to access, but I've done a lot with it by learning and watching tutorial vids. Can someone explain what a querydef is, where its used and why? I did some little reading but I'm missing something as its not clicking probably because I need to learn something else before making the connection.

Oh wait I think I found something that made it simple.
permanent DAO QueryDef object that contains the SQL statement, and then use the Execute method to run the QueryDef object in code
