Want to plot number of times country was entered on world map

I have a database that has a listing of trademarks and what countries they are registered in, among other information. I would like to construct a report that sums the amount of times a particular country was mentioned and plots this on a world map. Something that had an expanding circle or something graphical, rather than numbers, that would appear in the approximate spot of the protected country would be awesome.



Any ideas appreciated.

That program does look like it would be great, but I can't really justify spending the money, as most of its features would go unused for this project. Thank you though, I will keep that program in mind if any projects come along that could take advantage of it better.
