    Importing objects error

When importing objects from one database (office 2000) to another (Office 2000) in Access 2010, the import wizard keeps running long after the objects have been imported.

yes it is. so what you're saying is that the only thing you're noticing is that, after the imported object names appear in the database window, the circle still turns on the screen?

I'm not a tech support person, but I would say that makes no sense. does it ever stop? have you ever seen the windows mouse pointer not change back when it's supposed to? I have, many times. it usually changes back if you move the mouse!

    anything sound familiar there?

I have to go to Task Manager to turn it off. I cannot stop it or do anything else until I have turned it off in Task Manager. It has just started happening. I have repaired Office, run anti-virus, etc. There is also a bar at the bottom saying it is still working on one of the objects, this is not true, All the objects are pulled over quickly, as normal, it is just that the wizard does not close.

I think I understand the problem at last. We were importing a few objects into a database, neither the one we pulled from or the one we pulled into had the corresponding tables that were being referenced in the query objects we were pulling over. If I pull the queries into a database with all the corresponding tables the error does not happen.

I do not think this behaviour is impacting either database, it is just annoying. thanks for your interest.

sure. yes, that is very common. it sounds familiar to me too.

by the way, that's a recipe for corruption, especially in office programs as they are not created to handle such things as a common, predictable situation.
