dbase dbf to excel to accdb then back to dbf

I am having quite an issue here, I have a dbf file which I opened and edited in excel (to shortcut editing by adding formulas) saved it and imported it to a table in MS Access 2010, when I export it back to dbf (dbaseIII) it gives me an error "Field will not fit in record". I have read that it has something to do with the length of the field so I edited all field length from 255 down to 100. Still I am having the same error. What can I do with this?

Don't understand need for multiple import/export and why using Excel? Why not Access link to the dbf table and use UPDATE sql with calculations to edit the dbf? Why do you have to retain the dbf? Why not editing in dBase program?
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
