Moving Data In one Row over an X amount of Columns

    Hi Everyone,

I'm running a clinical trial with > 600 patients and I have 7 dates listed for visit dates, however going through patient files I have discovered that the database is missing dates and I must add the date in between dates 2 and dates 3, Therefore I'd need to move all dates 3 - 7 all over one column without it affecting the other 599 patients.

I was wondering if there was a way to do so similar to Excel where you could insert a cell within a row and just shifting everything in the columns over once.

    Thank you in Advance

    If I understand correctly:
    1. Your Table has 7 Date Fields to record the Visit dates for 7 different visits. Right?
    2. You want to add a new column to the table after the 2nd Date Field. Right?
    3. You want to add the new column for only ONE patient? This cannot be done in a Table. If you add a column to the table -> every row of data has the extra column. You

I'm not sure I've understood your predicament correctly - since you haven't mentioned the words 'Table' or 'Query' . . .

I'd like to apologize for not being more specific. However you did get my predicament correctly. Yes it's a table of just visit dates and there are 7 different visit dates. I'd like to add a 2nd visit date for 1 patient and move their 2nd visit to the 3rd visit "cell" and move the rest accordingly, if there was a way to either highlight everything from 2nd visit - 7th visit and move it over one cell or insert a cell between the 2nd visit and 3rd visit for the 1 patient that would be wonderful. However as you said it's unable to do so, Thank you for spending your time to help with the predicament

    If you
    Open the Table
Select the dates you want moved
    Do a Ctrl + X
Put the correct date into the 2nd date cell and then
Paste the rest into the 3rd cell
    . . . have you tried that?

So sadly in Access when I tried to do a cut/paste I can't highlight multiple cells at a time and move them over, I can individual cut/paste one cell and move it to the next, but not a set of cells.
