How do I sort my lookup filed in a form?

    Hi,

I have a form that pulls information from a tablet hat stores the event name and the date of the event. I want my lookup field in my form to sort by the date column, but I can't get anything except for a random order.

    Thanks for any advice!

    Welcome to the forum!

I assume that the lookup is a combo box. If you are in design view of the form, click on the combo box then go to its property sheet, data tab. Look for the row source property. It should have some text that starts with the word SELECT. The row source is essentially a query. If you click in the row, a button with 3 dots should show up on the far right. Click that button to get to the query design grid. Under the date column in the lower grid should be a row for SORT. You can set it to ascending or descending (whichever you need). This assumes that your date field is set to a date/time datatype in your table and not a text field.
