    Prob with Query

I have set up a “look up relationship” using names from asecond table, which makes a drop down within my main form, this works like adream, a user goes to the drop down and picks the name.

I run a query using this data which shows all theinformation I need and the drop down result as text.

My problem is when I run a mail merge using this data thedata from the list appears on the letter with its ID number and not the text(name).

I suspect you've used a lookup field, which most of us recommend against:

You'll need to include both tables in a query and merge that.

I am a little new to access, please keep it simply. :-)

    Thanks

I think the relationship is fine, and having the other table is fine. What many of us don't like is the "Lookup" feature in the table design. As you've seen, it hides what's really happening. The table is storing the ID but shows you the name when you look at it. Create a query that joins the two tables together, which lets you include the name field in the query result. Basing your merge on that query instead of the table should get you the desired result.
