How is it possible to get this field to create a total in the subform?

    Thank you.

If you change the view from Datasheet to Continuous you can add a form footer and put

    =Sum(Amount)

as the control source of a textbox. You'll probably have to move the textboxes around a bit to get a similar look.

    Thank you for your help.
This works well for those who have multiple sources of funding

However, when you get an individual who has no funding sources, the layout seems rather inefficient in terms of space usage

Not complaining. I'm grateful. I just hope that further down the road when I've hopefully advanced beyond the newbie level I can figure out how to achieve a funding subform that totals, but looks more like the subform in my initial posting. The continuous form view just takes up too much but, again, it fulfills my goal of having a total in the subform and that is HUGE at this point. Thanks again!

As mentioned, you can move the textboxes around and get pretty close to the same look you had before.
