    upsize access database

All, I have a database in access 2003. I want to upsize it to sql server 2005. I need to makes some modifications to the database. Is it best to upgrade to access 2007 before I upsize. Is upsizing still the way to go or should I recreate the database in SQL server since I need to make changes?
    Thanks

I would highly recommend just re-creating the tables in SQL rather than using any wizard or upsize tools. Your tables and relationships won't port over smoothly and you will still have to fix issues. I would suggest testing your existing application in Access 2007 to work out any issues there at the same time, although I have not had any problems upgrading from 2003 to 2007. In most cases the 2003 database has opened seamlessly in 2007 with the only real work required is to convert it to an ACCDB file. You can also leave it as an MDB and it will open fine in 2007. One reason to leave it as an MDB would be if multiple users are running on different versions.
