    Database Template for Academic Use

I am a records manager for a medical school. We want to purchase a database template that can perform a number of functions. The database should allow for entry of demographic information, curriculum lists, examination grades, and contact details of graduated students. Also, the database should be to have a front-end that can be used by multiple users. We also want to link some of the contents of the database to a blackboard (an academic learning platform) to allow students so make simple searches. e.g., to search for curriculum information.

I appreciate help on where I can purchase a database that meets the requirements above.

Access offers templates for managing student data. Check out the templates listed when you open Access to create a new file. Or do Google search for others.

This thread has another example of a student db you could consider https://www.accessforums.net/showthr...chool-database

Don't know about linking to a blackboard. Talk to your IT people about what database the blackboard is built in and if you can have permissions to read the tables.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
