Our business database was created in Microsoft Office 2000 Access (yes, Office version 2000) and has been fantastic. So far only two glitches to speak of-The first when Windows moved from Windows 98 SE to Windows 2000/Vista/XP. The database creator had long left his business and the entire area leaving us high & dry for updates and upgrades. When we were ready to move up to a new operating system, we found a local IT company who was able to upgrade our existing database & operating System to Windows XP with limited function loss. The fact that ANY function loss, rather than gain, occured pretty much had us saying then, never again! Operating system upgrades mean TIME & MONEY; something small business owners in today's environment DO NOT have. Now we like most have found Windows 7 64-bit is essentially required as XP is no longer supported. We've always found ver 7 64-bit is the WORST upgrade in terms of leaving behind significant compatiability with other devices, programs and hardware. We've bought the new Windows 7, 64Bit PC and need to transfer the Old ACCESS database, any general advice (backup of course) before we get started as to how BEST & with ease to do so? Thanks
