Angry How do i fix "Property Value is too Large"

    Hi All

I have a database when I try to add new field I get the message "Property Value is too Large", I will give you some details about the database if that helps.

1st Database has around 60 or 70 fields
    2nd I have one relationship
    to a second table
3rd The database is split eg front end and backend, I tried to add the field when ever other user was logged off.
4th I have tryed "Compact & Repair Database" and this has not worked.
5th I have exported the table to a new database and tried all the above and get the same problem
6th The database is still working as normal and has no problems apart from this

    7th I am using access 2010
8th I have tried adding combo boxes

Think I have sorted this, it seems that due to the number of changes I have made on the table access thinks I have used 255 fields, so I have started to add extra tables into the database for extra parts of the database.

I have built one linked table and some copy querys for the rest.

Hope this is the best option any advice would be good.

    Cheers

If your db only has one or two tables and one of them has 60/70 fields then I would suspect that it has not been normalised. There's loads of info available on the Web and in Access forums about this. Below is a link to one page that I found from Allen Browne's excellent Access site.
