Can you provide project? I analyze chart issues best when I can work with data.

    HI,

I am teaching access 2010 for the first time and also get the same results as posted above. How do I get my Access charts to properly read my data and not default to directional points (north, south, east west) and quarters?

    Thank you,

    Laura

Do you get the correct chart output in Layout or Form view? Save the form (or report) when opened in Layout or Form (or Report) view. Then reopen in design view. Should see your data displayed.

I don't know anything about charts but, I would guess that the SQL for the chart object's RowSource property is no good. Maybe you are trying to use the sum() function on a field that does not allow sum().

Good thought, but my test pie chart one was just one column of labels and a second of numbers that I typed in. . .

I am going to guess you will need at least two columns for your SELECT statement of the RowSource. At least one should be a number. The other could be text but, I do not know what a column of labels is. This does not sound like a good candidate for a field in your chart's RowSource.
