I am new to using Access and I am using the 2003 version of Access. Is there any way you can insert a comment to a certain cell in a table, like you can in Excel?

There is a Description area in the table design mode. Is that what you mean?
not so much as the description to the entire table. I am using access as an inventory program and I was trying to make a comment on one particular cell in one of the tables. I am not sure you can add a comment onto one particular cell but I do know that you can add a description to the table itself.
In Microsoft Excel you can insert a comment on one paticular cell and have a box pop up when you hover over that cell. Almost like the smart tag, except you type directly into the comment what you want. For example, if I have a table labeled fruit and then inside the table i have one row of apples and one row of oranges along with the quantities of each. Is there any way I can make myself a note on the quantities of apples but not oranges?
Type Quantity
Apples 25(Note: 10 are rotten)
Oranges 32
You can, but not the way you are thinking about it. Access is not that interactive with the user at the table level. In a form you can pretty much do what you want.
so it is not possible to add a comment to a cell like you can in excel? because i don't really see any difference between the forms format and the tables format
I have never come across anything like that in access...but may be we can do it on a bound form...some sort of a label...giving information on click or on mouse down event..!!!???!!!
