Lookup one field and change its name based on another field

Have a table with Part Description, and Category. How do I create a query to Lookup every Part with "ELEC" in (Category) and every Part with "Light" in (Part Description) and have it create another Category in a New Field (New Catergory) named EL-LT. I need to re-categorize all my parts. Any idea's on using criteria to rename?

Table in design view, create the field. Then run an UPDATE query to populate the new field.
