Exclamation New database asking Name and Password:

    Hi all,

I am new to MS Access. I have a Access database which is opened using a BAtch file because it has a user security file. It asks user name and password while login for the database.

But now I have deleted the database and application and my system does not have any access database.

My problem is I need to create a new database and it is asking for user name and password when I try to open it. I am unable to understand why it is asking for the credentials even though I have deleted the old database.

Also, when I got that security fiel and opened the database I am able to open the database. I should not use that Security file for this new database as it belongs to another database.

So how to open my new database without it asking for username and password??

    Kindly help. Thanks in advance.

I have gone through the content and it says that Access opens the new database using the old security file itself. It says to run the following command

    docmd.RunCommand acCmdWorkgroupAdministrator

after this it asks to select the System.mdw file present in the path C:\Documents and Settings\219962\Application Data\Microsoft\Access

I have followed the same and still it is asking for the password and username. Kindly help.

Also, is there a possibility to not split the database and have both DB and application in same Access in shared drive and use in multi user environment. Because the size is very small

I asked the new user creation issue to solve the first thing as i have changed the work group file to the new system2.mdw file. Noe i am trying to add new users and groups to that file and set a password.

The new accdb format for ac2007 does not support ULS. Are you still using the mdb format?
