Autofill a field based on previous filed within the same column

How do I get access to auto fill a text (supplier)? I realize that for a new supplier I would have to input the supplier name, however my question is what should I do for Access to enable auto-fill so that the next time I have to input that supplier it would auto fill for me. Please keep in mind that all of this is happening in a single column.



For example: In the supplier column, I typed Dell in the first row, Apple in the second row, HP in the third row. Now when I start typing 'Apple' in the fourth row, I want it to autofill 'Apple' because I have already input that once.

Thank you for sharing that link. I followed the procedure step by step but it would not auto fill as I start typing. I am using Access 2010. Perhaps there is something additional that needs to be done in order for this to work in 2010 Access. Please advice

Sorry, I misread the original post. Autofill in a textbox requires VBA code. Just explored this with another poster last week. Easier alternative is a combobox with AutoExpand property set to Yes.

No problem. I am trying to find the AutoExpand property within the combobox. Can you please point me in the right direction where I could find the AutoExpand property? Thank you!

AutoExpand is a property available to a combobox on a form. I NEVER set Lookup in tables. I don't allow users to interact directly with tables and queries. Are you the only user of this db?

This is something that was already there. The end user is my coworker. I do the technical stuff and this is my first Access project ever. So, I am still trying to figure things out while trying to get this task done. Should I create a form bounded to this database?

I just checked out a combobox on a table. Apparently the AutoExpand is a default behavior on table. Do not need to use form after all.
