    Command Button Matching Records Issue

    Hi

I have a subform form which I want to open to another form in Access 2007

I am using the command button wizard for this (which I know from what I have read since can be clumsy and flawed)

I am following the procedure which is laid out for you. When I get to the choice of 'showing all records' or 'specific data' option, I choose specific data.

I get the two panel with the fields in to match (left panel is the form I am going from) - (right hand panel is the form I am opening to) -see attached

I match the SCIID using the <> bit and finish the task.

However, when I use the button, it opens the form ok, but the SCIID is not displayed in the text field i have created on that form. This means the form is not bound to any SCIID, so any information I put into the form is lost and not anchored to any specific record.

I have read alot of forums and tried several things, but to no avail. Its very annoying. Is it just an access 2007 bug? or something else?

    Any help gratefully received

    Thanks

    marc

Well, this is the type of code the wizard would build:

So you can try entering it yourself (in VBA, as I just remembered 2007 builds embedded macros). Does the form display the ID if you open it directly from the Nav Pane?
