Unhappy Unable to view query in design view

My collegue and I are accessing a database using MS Access 2007. I made a change to the query in the database and then closed the database (saved changes). When my collegue went back to access the same database and tried to open the modified query in the database it DOES NOT open in design mode, it opens automatically in SQL mode. I have never seen this behaviour before, he can access rest of the queries in design mode just fine , only this query that i modified. I can open it in design mode but not him.

    Any ideas ?

Some queries cannot be shown in design view, only SQL View; like UNION queries.

I take it you have not split your system to FrontEnd and BackEnd yet, correct?

CORRECT, it's all in one database.

That is a formula for corruption. Are you both in the db at the same time? I've not seen this behavior before so I'm not sure where the problem might lie.

Try *importing* everything into a fresh new db and see if the issue follows: http://www.btabdevelopment.com/ts/impnew
