    Exclamation Ledger Report with opening balance

    i attached here access file with a report name Mashr in which i want to put opening balance manually and i want subsequent balancing.. pls help.

    Where do you want the opening balance input? Looks like you are treating the table like a spreadsheet. This is not how a relational database is supposed to work. Might as well just use Excel instead of Access. You might review the 'sticky' thread tutorials here http://forums.aspfree.com/microsoft-access-help-18/

    Opening balance cannot be input in MS Access, but arrived based on the data.

    I really don't know what you mean by opening balance. You mean last month's closing is this month's opening? In a properly structured relational database this would be calculated. You do not have relational database with this structure. Your one big table has been treated like a spreadsheet, a spreadsheet without the capability of formulas in cells. Access is not meant to be used this way. That's why I recommend you review the tutorials.

    ok ok ok

    i got ur point....

    actully the big table (spreadsheat) is the report i am getting from our accouting software. based on that i have make many reports. its totaly manual i tought i can use access to make it easier. i 90% made as we need but problem is only balance not coming. By the way thank you. i will try something else to make it easier if it is not possible in Access..

    I don't know that it isn't possble in Access because I don't really understand what you need to do. It's just that by the appearance of the table it seems like Access is not the best tool with the approach you are taking.
