New to SQL
Hi,
I kept developing simple databases that did not require sql solution but recently it is starting to be not sufficient, I have more and more demanding customers and I need to start using SQL.
My question is which book you could recommend for someone new to SQL? I got quite a good grip on access itself and starting to be quite confident with VBA.
Also what software would you recommend? Obviously the cheaper the better. I was looking into Microsoft SQL Express edition but maybe you have different view.
Thanks

My favorite book is the "Microsoft Access Developer's Guide to SQL Server" by Chipman and Baron. It's a bit dated, but the concepts are still relevant. I've only used the various full versions of SQL Server, since my employer owns them. I've heard that the Express version works well.

Express is great for getting started. Hard to beat free.
