    Set the ID fields as Indexed Yes(No Duplicates) to prevent any duplication. A single install date field is then not really useful if equipment and pairs can be installed independently.

    I still don't see why can't just have fields in customer table to document the installed items. That is essentially what this junction table is mimicing if duplication in fields is not allowed. The junction serves nicely if you want history, which means duplicate entries in ID fields would have to be allowed. The combination of the 3 ID fields and date would make the record unique.



    Again, I suggest that it is really the address that items are associated with. The customer is also associated with the address. Customers can move and address gets a new occupant who might not become a customer, customer going to another address might remain a customer.
