    Accessing inputted data

I have created a database with forms containing sub-forms, based on tables held therein.
This will be used as a reporting tool which colleagues will send me via email for me to import their records into my central database (networking is not an option).

I have shyed away from embedding buttons and have not delved in to macros, believing that the functionality present in the window edges will suffice.

(My experience of these more technical aspects is very limited).

I have 'hidden' the tables in the Navigation pane and made the file into a MDE file for security reasons.

Basically, I want to be able to access the reported data in its Datasheet view AND also be able to export it out of others' versions and into mine.

Is this possible as I can't see how to retrieve my hidden tables! I want to have administrator rights - locking access to others but able to obtain full access to all views myself.
I have heard reference to Switchboards and the respective wizard also, but been unable to identify this.

Also, when I attempted to export the data I was only able to retrieve the main form's records and not that data held in the sub-forms...
    What am I missing?

Any ideas to help a 'damsel in distress'!

    Thanks.

I'm not sure, exactly, what you're asking. Is the main issue, that you can not find your hidden tables?

Yes, I am, amongst other things, thanks.

However, I am also looking to export linked sub-forms out from within my one main form. I only seem to be able to retrieve my main form records...!

I am unclear on what you mean by "linked Sub-forms". A linked subform should just represent, (from what I gather of how your using it), a table, or in some applications a query, (which I do not believe is your case).
If this is the case, you would import the table from the user's dba.

To clarify this, let see if I understand the scenario, completely.
You have multiple databases, one for your self, and one for each user. These databases are unable to be linked, so after the user inputs data, you are trying to extract the "table" or the data they entered into the table.
You will input this data into your database tables, then query the data in order to manipulate and report it.
However, you have hidden the tables, which in turn, has caused tou to not be able to locate them and now, can not export the data, nor if you could, you can't find your tables to import them...
    Does this sound about right?

    Yes, spot on.
I'm sorry - trying to sort multiple issues at the same time wasn't ideal I guess.
    Getting myself in knots...

    Awww... it's ok...
First, to view your hidden tables, Go to Tools. Select Options, then the view tab. In the top right corner, check the Hidden box. This should allow you to see the hidden tables. Let me know if this part helps...

I'm on version 2007 so unsure if we are looking at the same set-up...

I've managed to do this through the Navigation Pane.
Does this do the same job?

It should. It's been awhile since I've had 2007. My new company sent my back to the dark ages with 2003. lol

Perhaps we should swop? I've gone the other way, bringing my 2003 training to a 2007 system.
...Think I need to do some extra reading!

Ha! I'm sure! I am so with ya! I was so lost with 2007 when I swapped.
So, did this work? Can you see the tables?
