Value in column a corresponding to max value in column b

I want to display in a form control the value in one column of the record source corresponding to the maximum value in another column. I have experimented with the Dlookup function but cannot formulate criteria which are accepatble to Access. Can anyone help?

Did you try to pull the values with a select query?

I don't recall having used it, but I believe one of the available qualifiers is 'MAX'.
