query to a table then run another query

I have 2 queries in which numerous tables are from external data. This data can be slow. I want to query a data set into a table, then run another query against that table and some other tables as a join. I would liek to be able to launch the query and it clear the table and reload it prior to running. The results need to be a query that I can then do a pivot view on. Can this be done?

A single query won't do all that. Behind a button, you can run a delete query to empty the table, an append query to repopulate it, then open the form or report the final query is feeding (or open the query, which I wouldn't do).

It would depend on your specific needs, but likely I'd have code behind a button to do it.
