    referential integrity

In 2003, you could create a lookup between two tables and then create referential integrity for the link. So, for example, my tContacts table looks up the org field from the tOrgs table and there is referential integrity. Same for 2010. In 2003, you can leave the org blank in the tContacts table. For some reason, I can't do that in 2010.

The org field in the tContacts table is NOT required, allow zero length is YES, limit to list is NO, and all value list edits is YES.

    Any ideas? Thanks!

Referential integrity implies that the contents of the field must exist in the lookup or parent table. If you want blanks, just put a blank in the tOrgs table. it should work.
