Unhappy Full Database and Table Capacity Reached

    Hi all,

my MS Access 2007 database has reached full capacity of 2G.
In order to prepare myself to obtain sql to transfer the database, I need to ensure my colleagues can keep working, so I decided to split the back-end (front and back are already split) into 2; so the capacity of all the tables can be spread.

Problem I am having is that 1 of the tables actually is 1.9G on its own. So the 1 table is in 1 database and the other 20 tables are in another one (those 20 form a combined capacity is 46MB).

For some reason, the file that contains 1.9G only has 2800 records. I have tested deleting about 900 of those and it doesn't affect the 1.9G capacity at all. It seems there is a record or setting that it taking up a huge amount of space.

How do I find which record or setting it is? Is there any way of finding out what is making this table so heavy and excluding 1 signle answer? 6 months ago, the entire database wasn't even 100MB.

Please advise urgently if someone can help me fix my issue while I look into transferring the database to slq for higher capacity.

    Cheers
    L

Have you run Compact & Repair recently?
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
