Group Header and then a Sort

    Hi,

I've created a report based on a query based on two tables with a one to many relationship. In the report I have a Group Header, and in the details appear each of the related items in the one to many relationship.

In the 'one' table of the one to many relationship I have some date fields I would like to sort all the reports by, so when they are printed, they print in the proper order. I am unable to figure out how to get the in the proper sort order though. They always appear in the order of my AutoNumber primary field that the report is grouped on.

Is there a way to Group, but then sort on a different field??

    Would using subreports help??

    Thanks,

It's been a while since I used 2003, but I don't remember ever NOT being able to Group on one field and then sort on one or two other fields.

Is it a complicated report to re-create?
    If not:
    Use the Report Wizard
Group on your AutoNumber field [if that is what you really need]
Sort on the rows you need sorted within the Group [I think you can sort on up to 4 fields].

If it is a tricky report to re-create - open the report in Design View, Look for 'Group & Sort' in your menu options on top - and you should be allowed to add a sort.

    I hope this helps.
