    Basic question about forum formatting

    I'm beginning to use this forum a lot (which is both good & bad : )

    One thing that's been driving me nuts is that when I formulate my questions and have nicely formatted them in MS Word, the minute I paste into these boxes my formats have gone away! For example, if I want to illustrate my table design by saying;

    Field:_____Project______1st_CamA_Rig
    Table:____tblProject_____tblProject

    You see I have to put the underlines in to connect the words. Otherwise, it'll look like this;

    Field: Project 1st_CamA_Rig Table: tblProject tblProject

    I know how to use the wrap to make my VBA posts maintain their format, but I haven't found the right wraps to maintain my basic Word spacing. I like my examples to be as visual as possible (e.g. to be understood as quickly as possible) which is why I take the effort to format them and I'd appreciate any of this forum's veteran's pointing me on the best way for me to simply copy + paste from Word into this text box, and NOT lose my formats!

    Thanks,

    you can't control this my friend. to some extent you can though. for instance, on the advanced screen for replies there is a ''table'' icon on it. use it to post data. What that does is surround the data you post inside of it with <table> tags in HTML. I think, anyway.

    This forum is scripted in PHP, obviously you can't manipulate that part. So you have to paste data in that it can/will be pleased with.

    In general, the icons are here as vehicles for you to pass your own data so it can be formatted by the server scripts.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
