    Permission

    Hi,
I created my DB (Access 2003) years ago and I use it and populate it daily. The problem is that a new colleague joined the team and he can’t open it. The pop up message he’s getting is “You don’t have the necessary permissions…….Have your system administrator or the person who created this object establish the appropriate permissions for you”
What should I do to fix this?
    Thanks in advance!
    Jaime.

That usually means the person does not have read/write access to the folder that the database is stored in. You would have to contact your system administrator and ask them to either put the database in a location you can both read/write to or give the new person the ability to read/write to it's current location.

Be aware that Access does not tend to like concurrent users and if you are trying to open the exact same database you may have some exclusivity problems. To avoid that it would be best to split your database into a front end/back end and give each user a copy of a front end with which to work.
