    Frontend won't open

I have Access 2010 installed on my home computer and my office computer. Both are 64 bit systems running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. The office computer was just recently upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit and I re-installed Office Professional 2010 back on it.

I have an MDB file that I have been using with office 2010 on an XP machine (my office computer), when I upgraded and re-installed office 2010 the mdb frontend won't run... access locks up. I can take the same frontend and move it to my home computer and it will run perfectly.

I've tried Compact & Repair and I have downloaded a backup of the frontend and the same thing happens, won't run at the office but will run at home.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Randy

you say that home and office are both win 7 and 64 bit. but the next line you say that office was upgraded to to win 7 64 bit. is it one or the other?

are the OS's and office packages identical on the machines? if not, what's dif?

Sorry I didn't make that clear... the office computer was an XP computer and just recently upgraded to win 7. That is when the problem came up.

then the problem is win 7, obviously.

best bet would be to google. nothing else available. just saying "access locks up" is not definitive enough to get expert knowledge on the cause of it.

ajetrumpet: Thank you for your quick reply(s). On a long shot I removed Office Professional 2010 and re-installed it and that took care of the problem.

    Thanks again for your help.
