    Unhappy data entry


    new to access i have 2000. ? is i have several fields quantity,material,totalmaterial. quantity+material = totalmaterial on the entry form fine, but my table shows a blank value. why does it only show up on my entry form.
    anything that is keyed in shows but calc values don't.it's prob some simple error.this is my 1st database

    Calculations should not be stored in a table. Calculations are usually only performed in Queries and Forms. There is no need to keep the calcs in tables. If data changes then all calcs have to be redone. Not a good idea. Information is always attainable in a query. Access is not a spreadsheet but a relational database.
