    Paper size problem

Hi, am running Access 2003 SP3.
We have a database which contains hundreds of reports, which were designed to print to A4 pages.
We have changed the printer. Although the new printer also purports to be A4, there appears to be a few millimetres different in the specification of the paper size, because whereas before I had not problems printing, now, whenever I print a report I get a dialog box advising that the page being printed exceeds the paper size. I click on OK and it prints the reports but with a blank sheet of paper on each alternate sheet.

How should I go about correcting this, please? I expect it is too much to ask for a solution that will correct all of the reports in one go, but I would be content with a solution for one report, which I can then do for the others one at a time.

    Thanks

Check the default paper size in Page Set Up. If your reports are set to letter rather than A4 this will happen.

Check the printer settings for A4/Letter as well.

Hi - thank you for the input

I click on file, page setup in Access and it reports "A4".
The printer is also set to A4.

To be frank, much as I appreciate the response I was not expecting this to be the solution. Before switching printers it worked fine, and had that been the explanation I would have expected the same problem prior to changing printers.

    Correction

I was relying a bit on my faulty memory when describing the dialog box message, which actually reads

"The section width is greater than the page width, and there are no items in the additional space, so some pages may be blank.
For example, the report width may be wider than the page width."

Like I say, this is a newly appearing message, which did not used to happen, but now happens on dozens of reports. It is possible that it may be unrelated to the change of printers. Anyway, how to adjust, please?

    Thanks.

Ah - Margins - the default margins on the printer may be different. You may need to change the report margins in page set up.

For portrait reports keep everything inside 16cm - for landscape 24cm is the magic number.
