    MSysCompactError - How to troubleshoot?

    Hi,

I'm running Access 2007. Today I split my db into frontend and backend. When the split was done, I get a table called MSysCompactError.

    ErrorCode: -1002
ErrorDescription: MSysCompactError ErrorDescription '|' is not a valid name. Make sure that it does not include invalid characters or punctuation and that it is not too long.
    ErrorTable: MSysRelationships

I also noticed that I cannot open one of my queries in design view anymore, I'm not sure if it's related but I suspect it is. [EDIT]: I've confirmed that it is related. I opened a backup I have before I split the DB and I could open the query in design view.

The error message I get is:

" is not a valid name. Make sure that it does not include invalid characters or punctuation and that it is not too long.

How do I go about troubleshooting and fixing this problem? Thanks.

Try *importing* the "defective" query from the backup. If it works then delete the one that no longer works.
