    Question Issue recognizing Excel 'ranges'

    I am trying to import an Excel table into Access, but am having issues getting Access to recognize some of the data. Specifically, the table is called 'Fructification' and contains the fields Key_Fructification, Key_Stands, Key_Species, Key_Operation, and Fructification. The issues stem from field Fructification, in its containing data derived from two different evaluating systems. In the early half of the table, it contains pure numbers. In the later half, however, it contains ranges and greater-than or less-than figures; these being what Access seems unable to recognize (leaves these fields blank when I attempt to import the table). Thoughts? Where am I fructing-up here? Example attached;

    Is your destination field in your table defined as a number a text or number data type. If it's a number I don't know what type of response you're going to get, for instance 8-10 may end up as a 2 in your field or it may bomb out because it's not in a number format.

    Change the last field to text in your Access table and see if you can run the import.

    As I believe I told you a while ago, you will need to make sure that the Excel file is sorted with the text part on top or you can put a bogus row in and then delete that row after importing.
