Datasheet form problems...

I am making (at least I'm trying to make) a new inventory database for the nonprofit I work for. We're a clothing bank so we take in lots and lots of clothes everyday. So, I thought making the new inventory in form a datasheet form would be good so you could just add record after record every day, or whatever.

Here's my problem:

I made the first three fields cascading combo boxes (Program, Category, and Item) that then update a text box (Cost) depending on what was selected. My problem is that when I start a new record, it updates the record above it. How can I solve this?

are your comboboxes in the header of the form?

No, they are in the detail. When I made the form it didn't give me a header. I've just been modifying the boxes it automatically gave me when I created it from the table I want it all going to.
