    access on the internet

    Hello,

I'm trying to publish an access database to the web that uses web forms, queries, and reports to manage orders for a catering company.

I need to be able to query a date range and receive total pounds of potato salad needed, total bagels, sandwiches, and more for that date range. This information isn't saved within the database itself, but is calculated by getting the number of people who are being served and whether or not they ordered potato salad.

I can't seem to be able to do what I want to do with WEB queries. For example, the total/sum function is disabled as is VBA. Is there a good way to accomplish what I need to do with Access?

    Thanks,

    Tommy

This probably isn't the kind of answer for but I am yet to come across a successful Access based web service. Despite the web forms, I don't think it's all that ready for web publishing just yet. Php/MySQL is the way to go.

You have to use a calculated field (the new calculated field datatype) in order to have this work.
