Excessive 'sums'

I am trying to create a query ordered by ...

(table: field, grouping, sorted)

-----------------------------------------
HostSpecies: Key_Species; group-by
Stands: Key_Stands; group-by; ascending
Operation: Key_Operation; group-by
Seeds: GR_Parasitees; sum
-----------------------------------------



My sum, however, keep returning numbers
way in excessive of what the referred-to
data actually sums to. E.G.,

As tested in Excel, Key_Species/Stands/Operation 2/100/4 should yield a [GR_Parasitees] sum of 1118. Instead, however, my query is giving said-data a [GR_Parasitees] sum of 74764. Any suggestions?

Can you post the database or a database with example data that mimics the problem? Please include the query that gave the incorrect sum.

Thanks for replying; I think I've already figured it out, though - I had one set of version brackets at the wrong end of a table-name, which I guess would have compounded intended calculations when access wrote them into SQL?

In any event, switching (v4)table_name to table_name(v4) seems to have solve it; yes, another case solved by the impeccable "Captain Database ...!!"
