Question Can I use dropdown menu selections in a sum?

    Hi,

    PROBLEM:-
I have been given the task of setting up a new database for work. One of the pages within the form contains a set of 6 drop downs each containing numbers 1-6. What I need is another box that automatically works out the average of the 6 selected numbers. I have tried entering different formulae within an unbound text box but cannot seem to get any result other than either a totally random figure or an "#ERROR" message. Can anyone give me an idea of how to get this working please? Any help greatly appreciated. This is my first thread although some of the other comments have really helped my design so far.

Look at the attached. Is this what you had in mind.

Set up six combo boxes and then simple addition formula in the unbound text box. Make sure that you format the data in the underlying table for the combo boxes as an integer and make sure that the combo boxes are also formatted as a number and not text.
