    lookup

I'm new to Microsoft Access and database design period. I have a drop-down list with a main category and a second drop-down with sub categories. There are probably half a dozen unique sub categories for each main category. I want the second drop-down to change based on the selection in the first. Can someone give me an idea of what are the best practices to get this done. I thought this might be a good place to use a lookup field, but I can't figure out how to return all entries in a row based on a parameter... and then I'd have to get that into the drop-down list... Any help would be appreciated.

    Cascading Combo Box

That's the answer. It took me awhile to find it. So if you too are new and trying to figure this out, google cascading combo box
