Are you using the Requery or Refresh command?
Are you using the Requery or Refresh command?
Hi i was just adding the refresh command, when i place a button on the form i select form operations then refresh form data and thats it sometims it works and sometimes it does not work
I dont know how to use the Requery
Just make the button then click cancel, don't choose any of the options from the button wizard. Then go to the button properties, for the OnClick event choose Code Builder and enter in Forms!YourForm.Requery (where YourForm is the name of your main form, or the one that you want to refresh).
Hi i have tried that but when it come to code building it is over my head i just dont understand how to do it.
What's the name of the form you want updated after you make an entry?
Its just called Narrated
Ok when you open code builder, just copy and paste the following in to the private sub area for the control you are working with....
Forms!Narrated.Requery
Wow that worked first time thank you so much, the test will be if it works later.
Thank you so much
No problem! Glad I could help.
I dont just say you helped me you are a life saver i have been trying to do this for weeks now.
Is it possible on this forum to give you credit.
Thank you
You're welcome. I'm a noob at this too but glad it was something I knew the answer to.
Hi again this project is doing my head in, the solution you posted worked for a little while about 5 records then just as before it has now stopped working, i have set it up aging and sometime it works and then it does not work.
Hi 10 Gauge
Well this is embarrassing if you’re still about I have finally got your advice to work every time now it was my fault it may sound stupid but the advice you gave me was just brilliant but. I was using on the wrong form I was refreshing the form I used to input the new narrator.
I should have used it on the main input form to refresh the new data added in the narrator form.
How stupid can I get?
Hey man we all make mistakes and it's all part of the learning process!
The advanced Access users and MVP's on this forum are as good as they get, I've learned more stuff than my brain will allow me to absorb in such a short amount of time.
Thank you for the kind words, and yes i am learning everyday.
Thank you for all your help you have got me on the right path now.
Regards to all who have advised me in these forums
