Populate existing records from Excel

I have seen many solved threads regarding appending tables from Excel, however I am not able to find threads addressing my problem.



I have a table to which I added fields matching columns in Excel. The existing records in the table have a primary key matched with the first column of the worksheet in Excel. I want to update the new fields in the table with the information from Excel.

I have, to date, been unsuccessful in getting any of the "Get External Data" options to work. I tried several variations of the import option as well linking tables. I have not tried to programatically add the data as I have NO idea where or how to start (I'm not afraid of trying the code option, just don't know how). Might some kind soul offer a clue as to how best I go about achieving my goal?

Without an response from the community, I continued my part-time research into updating my records and "discovered" the update query. This worked perfectly for my situation. Onward and upward.
