Hello, I'm new to this forum but I can tell I'll be here a lot, so first off, hey everybody!
I have a a query that takes a bunch of data on sales, rev, orders, etc. Since these tables happen to be quite large, I've created a query of linked tables. These tables are tab-delimited txt files and stored in a folder in the same directory as the access query.
Here is my problem,
When referencing the external tables, this query works perfectly on my computer, when I change computers the filepath changes. I'm calling this query from an excel macro and I have to manually enter the filepath everytime I switch computers. I was wondering if there was a way to reference the filepaths as relative rather than exact.
ie: C:\me\automate\database.accb works
@ work: C:\myName\automate\database.accb does not work, I have to re-import the tables even though they're linked, not imported.
i want to just define the reference as automate\database.accb so that the macro works on any computer from within the same folder.
Sorry if I used the wrong terminology, I'm still learning
Thanks everyone
