DB for Document / Product Sheet Creation

    Hi there

I need to design a database in which the user can enter various fields of information, and then it outputs the results in a standard report for printing

This report must be "standard" so that they all look the same. The user will be inputting data such as "Product description", "Product Uses", as well as list accessories for the product - with pics for the main product as well as a pic for each accessory. This report will be a "Product Spec Sheet"

I just want to find out whether the best way of doing this would be by just using a form providing the user with the fields complete, and then the form just outputs to the report (easy), or whether there are other options I need to consider.

This db will be used quite often, and there are a lot of different products and models to be added. The outcome needs to provide the user with the ability to create "standardized" spec sheets as quick as possible.

    Thank you kindly

Is this something to replace a current technique?

Don't let users enter data to provide information that will be used for specifications.
You will get spelling errors, grammatical errors, inconsistent terminology which will preclude most searching efforts.

Consistent, multi-user product codification is not trivial.
Take a look here for some of the detail

Of course it depends a lot on your business and intended audience.

Spend time on the design of what you intend to do.
Consider how you would make changes to product specifications as well.
