maintaining inventory in access

Hi,


I am new to access and seeking help on the following:-
I have a small business of distribution/wholesale and have 4000 items .
is it possible that i maintain a database of these items in access and post purchase/sales/stock adjustments/physical stock/etc. and will the database automatically calculate the current stock. also, will the database calculate the weighted average cost for the items?
